The article discusses issues related to changes in the Russian author’s lexicography in recent years. As material for the study, dictionaries published in the period 2015 – early 2021 were taken. These are not only new dictionaries themselves, but also those that were previously published in the form of separate issues, and later were collected in one or two volumes, as well as new volumes continuing editions. The analysis of the selected dictionaries is based on an important distinctive feature taken into account in the typology of author’s reference books. This is a sign of the completeness / differentiation of the dictionary in terms of the scope of the material being described. In the analysis of the author’s reference books, complete according to the vocabulary, of the registering and explanatory types (alphabetic-frequency and explanatory), the emphasis is placed on such a side of them as belonging to the vocabulary series. It is shown that the materials of such publications give the researcher the opportunity not only to study the composition and structure of artistic speech of a certain era, the features of word use of individual author’s, including in comparison with others, but also the features of the literary language of that era. The number of differential dictionaries has recently increased significantly, which is explained by the strengthening in the author’s lexicography of the tendency to describe in separate, aspect dictionaries units of different classes, isolated in the writer's lexicon. New dictionaries of this type are distributed among private vocabulary directions, such as author’s neography, dialectal author’s lexicography, author’s phraseography, etc. Special attention is paid to differential author’s dictionaries of lexical difficulties that are gaining special relevance - obsolete, rare, etc. words from works of classical literature, which may raise questions from the modern reader. In conclusion, an assessment is given to the consolidated syntactic dictionary of Russian poetry of the 18th century as an innovative work in Russian lexicography.
