Abstract

The article discusses the terminology of the concept of "buzzword" in linguistic terminology and focuses on its two key processes: firstly, the word "buzzword" as a lexical unit of a non-scientific variety of language is used as a term in the linguistic scientific language for a special linguistic research purpose; secondly, it acquires definitions and designations of a general concept in the system of concepts in modern linguistics. Based on specific material, it is indicated that the use of this word in natural language is the substratum of a term. At the same time, a brief scientific overview of the topic at the current stage is presented, which determines the relevance and prospects of the study.
